Wow you lot cant half talk - so much to catch up on.:)
Congrats to HH and FTM
Well still no washing line - who knew it was so difficult to buy a line post anywhere?? I suggested buying a piece of scaffolding and adapting it but dad is in full must be the proper thing mode - attempting to preserve value of house - I cant really see a washing line adding value myself buy hey ho.
Assuming you mean a post to attach the line to rather than a prop to hold it up in the middle, how about this site?

Grey Queen - so glad you mentioned this:
HH, saw your blog yesterday and your handfasting looked great. I think the red dress was a fantastic choice. People are so daft about insisting on white; it wasn't the norm to marry in white until the early twentieth century and up until the 1920s, blue clothes were for little girls and pink for little boys because blue was considered the more delcate and feminine colour. I think you should marry in whatever takes your fancy, including full-on goth black lace, if that's your style.
as whenever I explain to people that pink is a traditional colour for boys because it is the junior version of manly red - tehy look at me as though I am insane so I never get to have the conversation about where did it become a thing that "all little girls go through a phase of likeing pink" which is something I hear stated as fact all the time but can see no evidence for beyond the last 15-20 years or so.0 -

I hope harry does not use beef dripping as their chips are supposed to be suitable for vegetarians. Sorry I did not mean to sound like a no it all and dont want to come over like that, its just that I dont eat meat but still eat fish so it is something i check in advance.

Will look into that one definitely thanks.
Larumbelle - thank you, you are right he will only ever be himself but sometimes the idea of giving him a label upsets me. I understand that he needs this to secure an education but I find it hard to see in black and white. ITs interesting that your sister was diagnosed as a teenager - we are trying to get our DS13 diagnosed and cannot get anywhere as he is "too old". Its hard work.0 -

Exactly it! I love them, they don't love me, same as fried eggs???
Kidcat, just because its written that he cannot do certain things you have to realise that children are built to suprise youMy Dd was written off at 7 by an educational psychologist - 'she will never achieve anything that other children do' Ok that was severe dyslexia not autism but she has 6 GCSE's, is a trained chef and a fab Mum. All you can do is talk to other parents of children with autism and get advice off them - they are living it and theres loads of things you can do to help him. Theres even a tv channel on sky that has programmes relating to living with autism. When i see it on again I will send you the channel cos I cannot remember where I saw it.

We got lucky, the school got a new special needs co-ordinator with a different attitude and a new perspective, and he didn't think things added up. He was great, within a year of him coming in my sister went from "don't expect anything from her at all" to sitting GCSEs with the rest of her school year.0 -

My Dad also had a chippie for a while (in Huddersfield, where they know a thing or two about proper chips) and they were also cooked in beef fat - yummy!!
