Good morning!
Sshhh - don't tell anyone but we've actually been promised some sunshine here today. So I'm making the most of it working at home for the morning whilst doing 3 lots of washing.
Larumbelle I hope everything goes ok today when your sicknote runs out. Let us know how you get on.
Pigsmightfly I have no experience or suggestions for you and your daughter, but I hope you got a good night's sleep. The people on here are a great source of knowledge so hopefully you've had some good suggestions.
HariboJunkie I am completely with you on the black-out blinds. My problem is I can go to sleep when it's light - but then I wake up as dawn: which is flamin early at the moment. I've had a series of late nights this week, so I'm shattered.
A question for my fellow chicken owners: Broody hen is still up to her tricks hijacking any eggs that get laid and keeping them nice and warm all day. If I'm not at home she could be sitting on them for up to 8 hours. I think I read that the eggs might not taste so good after 8 hours gentle heating!! has anyone got any experience? I don't want to waste the eggs, but if they don't taste good I don't want to use them in baking etc.0 -
The sky was blue and the sun was shining... at half 6. Now it's clouding over ALREADY and its not very warm. But at least it isnt raining!0

Feeling much better today, I have decided to apply for a different school. Mean while I will be pressing the school to make changes and punish those animals and their parents. Thanks guys I am going to delete my first post as it is a little too revealing of my past-2lbs
Goal: lose 7lbs0 -
Morning all
Bit of a shock to the system today as i have a day off and the sun is shining:j .
My washing machine decided to spew water all over the floor last night so today i have tackled the door and seal with duck tape. There is definately a lot of my father in me as he always tried to fix stuff with duck tape or araldite, if they didn't work he didn't have a clue:rotfl:, but so far so good and washing has been completed without the floor getting an impromptu wash.
I am sadly forced to be domesticated today as house is looking a tad untidy, i use the excuse that i live in the country so dirt/dust flys in but it's really just that i don't clean enough:rotfl: but needs must as my friend will be popping in to feed chickens/rabbit/cats when we are away.
I am trying to use up food stuff this coming week as go on hol's the week after, looking forward to getting away but not to the increase in midges:eek:.
So sorry to hear peeps are having a hard time, so hugs from me x
Right i'm off to find the hoover xMoving towards a life that is more relaxed and kinder to the environment (embracing my inner hippy:D) .:j0 -
Have to say I think our council are pretty good dealing with things if you phone in. My bugbear is people who let their dogs foul the pavement. When we first moved here 25 years ago it was absolutely appalling. It's a 10 minute walk to the station and I had to step over so much dog poo I was nearly sick. I phoned up the council, they sent a team round to clean up the streets and it has never been so bad in the 25 years since. When the streets are dirty it gets so that people think why bother? and don't worry about their dog adding to the general disgusting state of the pavements but once it's clean, they won't be the first one to make it dirty. I've had to phone in a couple of times since then although it has never been quite as bad, and they are still really good at dealing with it. But it does take someone to make the call and like Ceridwen, I can't understand why people don't do itIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I found out by chance the identity of the dog owner who was letting their dog foul on my front garden. I spotted her one day and asked her to clean it up, she didn't. She came along a few weeks later to buy my old car and trod straight in it, it was all over her flip flops and feet and also up her trouser egs, how i laughed! funnily enough it's been picked up ever since x0

Hi everyone Oh yes dog poo is rife here too. There are playing fields nearby where we live and there is also a children's play area and 3 bins for rubbish dog poo etc. When we walk our dog every day we carry dog poo bags and use the bin to pop the bags in. We are forever dodging the poo all along the pavement and grass and then we find some idiots have tied plastic bags with poo in them tied to the high fence and trees or sometimes the poo bags are tied in a knot and thrown on the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! makes us so cross. We should all be so glad we have a lovely area like this nearby. i have seen children in the play area throw down plastic bottles of juice and chip wrappers and sweet wrappers crisp bags etc and laugh and walk away home!!!!!!!!! Then there are alcohol bottles cans etc too. I also saw a man with his kids there and they threw down their wrappers and he chucked his empty cig packet down plus butts. I despair.Do a little kindness every day.;)0

HOnestly, i think i am the only one in this house who gives 2 hoots about the money and the MSE factors and the OS ness - unless it involves eating the yummy stuff i cook - Oh yes they're all for it then.
Who finishes off the shampoo dregs in the bottom of the bottles - me
Ditto conditioner
Ditto shower gel
Who uses up toothpaste that no one likes - me
Ditto deodorant
Who is going to be the one to use up the shampoo that OH bought (for £1.50 more than i could have bought it!) but has now decided he dosen't like the smell of - me
Who will drink up the lemon squash that's been in the cupboard for months - me
Who turns off lights, taps, electrical equipment
You get the picture.
Is it always the women do you think? I am no plaster saint by any means but i can't bear waste - but the others in this house think nothing of e.g. opening a new ketchup bottle if they have to start shaking the old one.
Grrrrrrr:mad:
That's betterI wanna be in the room where it happens0
