I buy moo! semi skimmed and can't taste the difference between that and fresh milk. Other uht milk tastes bleugh to me though.
I like Moo UHT too. Saves me going out to by the odd pint.
really? my landlord said that because he gets his boiler breakdown with BG I have to stay with them as a customer. I would love to change suppliers so this is music to my ears. Thanks for that :)
you don't have to - he can have a contract with them without you being a gas/elec customer. Even if you did have to stick with them, you should make sure that you're on the best available tariff.

lillykins if he thinks you're mad goodness knows what he would think of me. I have at least six months worth of toilet rolls for four of us. They dont have use by dates.
Washing powder has gone up at an alarming rate in the last few years. I made my own for about 18 months and still have supplies to make it again if I have to but for now I buy washing tabs from home bargains for 49p for about twelve I think. I only use one per wash unless things are really filthy. I can remember about 12 months after I started using hm washing pdr I went down the washing powder aisle and almost screamed out loud when I saw how much it had gone up.

A selection of soups, meat and or fish in tins along with one or two puddings would be good to keep in store too for times of illness or bad weather.

I went to N*tt* in the next town for cheese and beans on a good offer but when I got there its name had changed and the offers were not as good :( A$d@ has taken it over under a different name.

Purpleheather you can gain a little bit of time if something is close to its so called expiry date by putting it in a container in the freezer. Almonds would be good for the protien if you had nothing else .

mamaninie I just use chapati flour from the asian supermarket and it makes a very acceptable loaf but dh does not like it for sandwiches for work.

Jedi it is so nice to see your post. poor baby , one of my grandsons had reflux and had to sleep propped up or else he was miserable. It does improve when the muscle gets stronger though.

Maybe we all need to make fleece vests for the winter and fleece socks as well as curtain linings :) if fuel is going to be that bad.

:)i do have a good size freezer so im going to do that i think im a crap gardener:rotfl:so maybe give that a miss

I'm totally rubbish at gardening, I can turn any plant into a stick. I manage a few herbs in pots at times, I've had a bumper crop of parsley, makes great sauce and I add it to all sorts of things.

I couldn't grow garlic either, that just curled up it's toes died!, but I did manage a great crop of garlic chives, chopped and added to low fat spread they make a good garlic bread.

I kill about 70% of everything but I still chuck stuff in the ground and pots, even if I only save 10p, it's 10p less to find.
