Hello again, just wanted to add a bit about costco. We are entitled to membership cos I am self employed BUT hubby is also entitled as he works for BT/OPenreach...the lady on the desk told me last month that they only make money on the membership at costco thats why their prices are low (yes well some are!)
A friend just went in with a utility bill and id (her driving licence) she said she wanted to join as an individual member, they asked her where she worked and she said she was a self employed artist (;)) the woman on the desk just said thats fine.
I seem to see more and more adverts for people 'eligible' to join. Just email them tell them you are interested, tell them what u do for a living even if its ''housewife/husband' see what they say,or bring out your creative side as the friend did above.
It was £30 for myself and hubby incl vat for a year, we have already saved but like any store I managed to impulse buy!

Productive day today, harvested gooseberries and got scratched to pieces, sprayed my wicker seat white needs another coat but already its fab! Even though OH grunted and mumbled at the mere fact I was doing it  just ignored him, ignored him the most when he was standing shouting instructions about the best way to spray.
He and neighbour fitted new kitchen window,,bricked up half old window space and stuck smaller window in. We are building a utility then new kitchen oh my the mess just from the blocks and window! !

I cooked ribs in slow cooker last nite for few hours just in water, then made bbq sauce from store cupboard chucked it over them and left in fridge,,was soo glad i did as kitchen was pretty much out of bounds,,managed to make potato wedges and open tin sweetcorn and did few chicken drums. Made dd same sauce over quorn fillet and a veggie sausage she loved it. Kids took it in turns to sit at table as its covered in stuff ! Not looking forward to the clear up later, they are rendering out there now.
Right off to get kids to get their school stuff sorted for tomorrow. Yey back to normal!

Kidkat hope the tooth is ok soon.

CBHM I have always found the people on here a great support when things get too much for me. There is emotional support and practical advice by the bucket load.

weeze thanks for the bread recipie, will get some sundried toms next week and give it a try.

It was very hot here yesterday and I worked a late shift and spent much of it with plastic gloves and plastic apron on over my uniform, full sensible shoes and socks. What joy. At least it was cooler when I did the early shift today.

Have made poor work of the ironing over the last two weeks which is shamefull as I have had 4 days off. Have started to tackle it now though - just having a short break to cath up onhere. Honestly I will get back to it soon . Back to the Mon - Fri job tomorrow so need to iron my trousers at the very least.

Hope you have all enjoyed the weekend.

I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

it is horrifying but is actual FACT ie wholesale food prices will go up a lot. Crops ARE failing. I see it from my bedroom window. They won`t come back to life to produce anywhere near the normal amount per plant and it looks as though they will wither

re prices: I am waiting no longer. Flour was ordered a few days ago and I have just ordered enough rice and oats for the whole winter plus quinoa as it is such a nutritious grain

The worst case scenario now is for it to rain and rain when the grain is ripe, as what remains will go rotten

Before I catch up on what has been going on, whoever told me about Waitrose Free Range Dry Cured gammon, by christ you knew what you were talking about! It was flipping lovely. I worked out that pound for pound it wasnt actually much more expensive than Morrisons, given the size of it. I served it with dauphinois potatoes and asparagus with black pepper. I roasted it (first time I have ever done that) then covered the flesh in mustard sprinkled with demerara sugar and studded with cloves. So thanks very much for telling me about that. x

Sorry but I am off back for some more!!! :D

yeah come Thursday when we have a bit more money I'm ordering a sack online, enough to qualify for free delivery.

I'm beginning to panic a bit in my head, I just can't comprehend how bad it is going to get
