Changing Broadband Provider

Options
I am changing the provider of my phone line, calls and broadband from aol to Sky.

I understand from aol that I will be without a phone line for a few hours on the day the changeover takes place so I presume this will be when my broadband ceases.

Could anyone let me know how long the Sky broadband will take to be up and running presuming I have the new router by then!! From the smallprint it looks as if it might be ten days but this seems a long time.

Thanks for any information.

Do you pay line rental to BT or AOL?
Are you fully LLU with AOL or just for broadband?
Are you moving to full LLU with Sky?

    Did you use a MAC?

Yes it should only take BT Openreach an hour or so to perform a tie pair swap.

    Thanks penryn

AOL is line, calls and broadband and moving to the same with Sky. Was told by AOL and Sky that I didn't need a MAC.

Not sure what LLU means. Really just wanted to know how long I am likely to be without broadband.

    Thanks again.

    Local loop unbundling.

Just make sure you are not stuck with a disconnection fee by AOL/BT for not using a MAC.

I've been told by AOL that there will be no disconnection fee. Any idea how long I'm likely to be without broadband?

    Thanks again for your time.
