easymoney.com credit card and lloyds-crafty devils.

would you say thsi is sneaky of easymoney now lloyds tsb platinum.i was going through a bad patch last year but i made arrangements and started to pay at least minimum or bit more. They froze my card but promised i could start using it after paying for 3mths on time which i did. Then they sold to lloyds who i am not on friendly terms with.Anyway for a while lloyds sent me statements and phonecalls sometiems just to make sure i was going to pay. i did for a while like a good girl. One day i decided to use my card so i rang up to make sure it was still active and was told i could not use the card as they had closed the account but i could carry on paying every month and had i thought about setting up a dd.They also admitted that easymoney had never had any intention of letting me keep the card but were only keeping me sweet so i paid them instead of letting the debt go to payplan who would have offered them about a £1 or maybe more.
For the record, im not on friendly terms with lloyds because they gave me bad advice, when i was young and innocent i panicked about a maxed out c card, they offered me a loan without taking into account that the loan payments would not leave me more that £30 to live on, they paid off the loan closed the credit card account before i had even missed a payment, reduced my overdraft to £50 from £1200 and expected me to be sorted. i hate lloyds tsb.

Can you wholly blame LTSB for this, surely you must have considered what the monthly payments would be and whether or not you would be able to afford them? Surely their actions - reducing the amount of credit available - were for the best for someone who had found themselves in financial difficulty through exposure to too much credit.

i would agree if they had helped me by recommending i reduce my overdraft limit which wasnt even overdrawn at the time and slowly making an arrangement to pay off the credit card debt which would have been the most sensible option then, but they didnt really care as long as the loan was sold to me. maybe it was a commission thing im not sure. when i think about it now its absurd, they expected me to pay almost £200 a mth for a 5 year loan i could have paid off the credit card in 6 months by paying the cc company that amount, and i had payment protection which was a waste of money. all this happened when i was 19 at the time i was petrified that going over the cc limit was something very bad.the loan was processed so quickly i didnt really get a chance to think what was right and wrong
