Put bluntly, nobody wants a big gas guzzling 4x4 anymore. They all want little 1 litre diesel noddy cars made of plastic and tin foil.

Then they will end up paying more when 4 years down the line they need to spend 3 grand on a new DPF and flywheel, but that doesn't help you, sorry.

    Sorry, thats pure balls.

There is a thriving market for 4x4s.

I'd disagree with thriving. There is a market for some 4x4s but others are sticking longer from what I see of the dealer just over road.

Honda CRVs etc are still selling (infact relative with CRV was asked if he wanted to sell), but X5s etc are stacking up with the buy any car for cash dealer near me now having a corner of 4 X5s at fair prices. Fuel, tax and tyres are just expensive over a 5-series.

Well I agree thats a possibility, but "pure balls" is a bit strong???

If theres such a thriving market, why can't the op sell it??;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

The op said they're in a big town between Glasgow and Edinburgh. I'm guessing that would be Stirling.

Is there a thriving market for 4x4s in that area? a Cherokee isn't exactly the most desirable urban vehicle.

  • 2 months ago I would have taken your arm off too. Not because of the weather, I was changing cars and wanted a 4x4 I could run on veg oil.

    Great news!

I got rid of my old Volvo pretty much the same way.. big laser printed sign in the window. Sold it to a bricklayer down the road.
