I don't travel much but I know enough that when I next go abroad, I will take the SIM out of my smart phone and put it into my old Nokia to take with me.

I've read too many of these stories. I reckon I can live without Facebook for a wee.

Or if posting on facebook that you have sand between your umm toes is so important then pick up a local sim card :)

Im really amazed at how many people just go wondering to far flung destinations without a single thought of the huge bills they are racking up, I wouldnt sleep right for the week if i had my phone on or a normal sim in it
  • The op would have got the message, everytime you roam onto a network it sends you the message telling you how much it costs.

It does not matter if roaming was pre-activated or if a person had to call up and had this activated.

I don't know a network which DOES NOT send you one of these texts whenever you are roaming...

Must have been a great holiday if the wife needs to use the net all the time and the kids want to play games.. I do that in the UK and don't need to pay extra for a holiday..

Why would you, your thrills are from gloating on an internet forum.
