I am very behind, so I am not catching up.

Started Monday magnificently - can't remember if I was supposed to be magnificent, but it felt like it, since then it all appears to have gone down to dailies.

Please can someone remind me that, when I say "I hereby declare that I will do no more than 1 hour per day extra at work" this is doomed to cause me to fail! Total result, I spent too much time at work this week, and not enough running my domestic life!

Think I need a Toots list for the next couple of weeks - lot of things all need to be done, and I have lots of extras to fit in - and I appear to have acquired three business meals out in the next two weeks - and normally I don't even average two a year! Stressy, stressy.

Need to finish a quick tidy around - caused chaos in the kitchen this morning, and it appears not to have tidied itself up!

    Evening

Still plodding on here. Far too much food shopping done but DS is home and with the extra person arriving tomorrow I guess it wont last long. Need to plan meals though not just snacks :(.

Am nearly there with the spare room although the carpet doesnt look very good and is still a bit damp. Need to find somewhere to move my mirror, hairdryer and all my makeup to as I use it as a dressing room and wont be able to do that for the next 2 weeks. So thats next on the agenda then remaking beds all round apart from DS who put clean stuff on almost as soon as the other was stripped off.

Fabulous to see you back for a bit soappie although sorry to hear of your trouble.

And message for Miss A - I think we all need to try some of your baking. I love coconut tarts but havent had them for ages. Well done for making them. Send our love to Master W.

Guess I should go and do some more now.

    'See' you all tomorrow

  • :hello: Newbie here(well to this thread anyway!), have been following this thread all week to see if it is something I could do, reading posts 1 and 2 makes perfect sense.
I am a mum to 3 children (12,9,5) who seem incapable of keeping anywhere tidy. I am trying to sort out my house, I have recently gone back to work after 6 years at home to try and make the finances balance. I am rejoining the grocery challenge (not doing too well so far) and am a target SW member. I have found loads of help on MSE over the last few years, and with all the money saving we managed to get to Florida.
So I now want to take control, of the housework as at the moment this is me:wall:
I seem to struggle as I lose interest as I probably try and do too much in one go. So breaking it down into smaller chunks seems a good idea. I manage the bare minimum but not much else, although I didn't follow it this week it seems doable so starting monday I am up for it. Unfortunately the children are off now for Easter so probably not an ideal time to start but will try and do as much as I can in between have fun with them. Might get them to do a bit more than keep their room tidy!!!
Hope to get to know more of you as time goes on.
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Soappie - your puddies are adorable. I love little orange puddies!

Kazw - as early as 3am....that's not as bad as I thought! I am so tired already:rotfl:.

Now, how can I kill the next 7 hours before they go to sleep?

Soappie lovely to hear from you, you've really been missed. xx

Kids all scrubbed and 3 in bed. Hot water on for me and then i'm heading to bed. Plan tomorrow is sunday school, church, sort the kitchen and get ready for the week ahead and hopefully get down to see my mum.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Lol, think I need a bottle of gin, earplugs and a good book. Oh yes, forgot I don't like gin! I'm guessing I'm not allowed to lock a group of 12 years old in the shed until the morning. Actually, it's the first time i've met any of them and they're being remarkably good.

Think i'll go and put a wash on!:)
  • When you said you told them not to scream in the garden I thought you'd already got them in the shed ;-))
