Hmm nice puzzle for someone if you can help...couple of weeks ago switched on the V+ (samsung) connected to flat screen tv with HDMI NO sound on any channel at all...replaced with 2 other cables and still nothing
Contacted virgin they fiddled with things at their end and sound came back...last few days lost sound on HD channels now so again swapped leads and still nothing..although one weird thing? only HD channel we can get sound on is ITV HD
all the usual cable channels are fine....just wondered if anyone had a similar prob in the past?

Assuming the transmission and box are good, the only reason I can think of for no audio over the HDMI is that it has been disabled in the V+ box settings.
To check the audio settings....
Home > Settings > Change Display & Audio Settings
Make sure the option for "HDMI Audio Override" is set to OffRemember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
ITV HD is the only HD channel that doesn't transmit Dolby Digital all of the time (if at all???). If you are experiencing audio loss on your TV for all the other HD channels then you will have to do as KillerWatt says, turn HDMI override to off. This is because your TV cannot decode the Dolby Digital signal sent out from the V+ box."...IT'S FRUITY!"0
