Hi - is there an easy way to swap numbers between 2 sims - one on orange , the other on vodafone?
Don't want to do the unlocking swapping sim route, as the orange is in my new phone with a good tariff, and the voda is in my old one which is going to my dd.
Any help gratefully received...

where you struggle is that you want to transfer numbers between two sims, yet if you take a number off one, it will be obsolete, so therefore transferring another number onto it is impossible as its not live. the only option is to buy another PAYG sim card for both networks, and change that way..... so.....
take your number off vodafone by requesting your PAC CODE, when it is released pretty much straight away, get your new orange sim, and transfer it across to that by giving them your PAC CODE which should be VPT****** and your number to keep, and vice versa for the other sim!! this process takes approx 7 days from when the number and pac code are given to the receiving network.
the only way this will not work is if one or both are existing pay monthly sim cards, where they will charge you the rest of your tariff to request your PAC CODE.
sorry if this is confusing and feel free to pm me if you need any more help

As piper5 said you need a PAC code to transfer your number from Voda to Orange. This will mean that your Voda sim card will be turned off though so will only really be viable if the person you're giving the phone too has their own sim.0
