  • Today ive been a complete failure!!!
Ive had a bad case of CBA and have only put the dishwasher on and made pizza dough!! How bl00dy lazy am I! I have had a walk down town and had a look round the charity shops and craft shops. I saw a gorgeous wooden key holder which would be great painted and shabbied up for £14 but I didnt buy it. If I still feel the same tomorrow I will go and see if it is still there.

I really really want to do up my bedroom. Its got magnolia walls, white ceiling and is very very boring. My furniture is a light oak as is the floor (but I love these so wont be touching them!) I fancy a change. I want a romantic retreat but im just not sure how to create it. Im rubbish at crafts as ive got no patience although I do have a sewing machine which my mum gave to me. I have white bedding and red and white striped Ikea curtains (that need turning up as they are wayyy too long) and I though with the excess I could make a bolster cushion and some scatter cushions. I saw some red checked fabric in a store down town for £1.80 a metre so might buy a couple of meters of that. I also picked up some remnants (free to good home) and thought about making some bunting and some stuffed hearts. Will I ever get round to it.....who knows.

  • I love show house bedrooms to but highly impractical sometimes. My white bedding doesnt really get that grubby, stick it on a hot wash once a week and stick it out in the sun to dry. Still bright white after 2 years! Mind you ive not got any grubby sweaty men getting in my bed so I suppose that helps lol.

Got work at 3 but ive made chicken noodle soup for tomorrow (its in the slow cooker) and a maltese casserole in the oven. Whatever is left can get put in the freezer. Need to go and clean the kitchen again now though, god im a messy cook! lol.

Ive made my maltese casserole with pork chops but you can use any meat....heres the recipe

    Ingredients

2 large onions (thinly sliced)1 chicken stock cube
    5 pork chops
6 large potatoes (peeled and sliced thickly)
    Salt & Pepper
    Curry powder
    2 teaspoons Fennel
    Water
    Method

Choose an oven dish that is big enough to take the meat and the potatoes. Start by placing all the sliced onions at the bottom of the dish, spread them all across the dish so that they’ll form a nice first layer. Crush the chicken cube or cut it into small pieces and sprinkle all over the onions.
Add the meat by putting all the pork chops on top of the onions. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and curry. Sprinkle also 1 teaspoon of the fennel.
Add all the potatoes and place on top of the meat. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and curry. Sprinkle the remaining fennel on the potatoes.
Add water from the sides of the dish so as not to wash away the spices. Add enough water so that the onions and meat are covered with water.
Roast in moderate oven for some 2 and a half hours. For the first hour, cover the dish in tin foil. After that, remove the foil so that the potatoes will eventually become crusty and golden brown.

Its a yummy 1 pot meal!!! Try it x
