What rights would I have to cancel a mobile phone contract?
I'm thinking about taking out a plan with Three mobile, their price plans are so much cheaper than anywhere else. However, after reading various things on here and elsewhere, it seems that their signal is very hit and miss.
I was wondering, if I order a phone from them, what rights would I have to cancel if the signal in my area wasn't any good? I understand you have the 7 day cooling off period but read somewhere that someone had tried to send their phone back stating this and was told that as they had used the phone this made the cooling off period invalid.
Any advice? The price plans are brilliant but obviously not worth it if the signals going to be so bad that I can't use the phone!

Pick up a PAYG SIM from them and try it for a month? Commitment free, foolproof!0

Ask your friends/colleagues first or check the reception with a free PAYG sim.

Well I've asked a few ofmy friends on FB and looked at a few reviews on different websites and the thing that keeps coming back is how rubbish their customer services are.
I might try the PAYG chip tho, thanks for that idea Rusty!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
With all networks, you must read their returns/cancellation policies before you order.
Some of them - 3 included - have this ludicrous catch that you mentioned in your first post of refusing you the ability to return the handset if you have used it.
The only way is to try a PAYG sim first as suggested and don't rely on coverage charts.0 -
If you take the contract from a 3store then you've got 14 days to return it, and they are much nicer in stores than over the phone! :-)0
