Do you have student reps who can bring this up as an issue? It seems unfair that you're not even able to access the online resources.

As for placements, I think that's a national problem due to the number of students and suitable available placements. I haven't heard of any university that hasn't had issues with placements.

Good luck with the law exam!! Law is the one module I am not really looking forward to doing. How did you find it? I'm expecting it to be really dry.

- What Is the ratio of boys to girls? ie, more girls on the course???

On my course there is a split of 30% male and 70% female. Although I doubt very much that your gender has anything to do with selection. Which uni's have you applied to?
