Travel agent gave me different rate to quoted

Hi
We are going to America on Tuesday so today I went looking for $ rates.

Lunn poly were 1.49 but they had sale on and she said she could do 1.56 managers special!!
She wrote her name and the rate on a card and I said I may pop back later

Co op were 1.56 too but I needed photo id for the pre pay travel card and I didn't have it on me!

So i went back to Lunn poly as they didn't need photo id and went through the very lengthy task of getting £1000 of $ on pre pay card and £700 in Dollars cash!

It was only when I got home that I noticed the reciept exchange rate on the pre pay card and cash transaction is only the 1.49 not the inflated 1.56 she promised me??

Is there a reason for this? Does the pre pay card make a difference? I still have the card with the promised exchange rate on so would you go back and make a scene???

Don't go back and make a scene.. it'll make you look stupid and will do you no favours at all. Go in, politely show a staff member what the lady wrote for you yesterday and ask if there is anything they can do about it.

Lunn Poly?! Get Away!! Blast from the past

As cactus has said above, just go back in and politely speak to someone (no need to cause a scene!). If you still have the rate card, with the employees name, and you also have your receipt for your transaction, then you have all the proof you need.

Was quoted $1.5764 today. Remind me never to go to Lunn Poly. Manager's Special! Trying to make you think you were getting a good deal so you'd buy there and then!
