trrying to set up home phone and BB on-line

I have been trying to set up a phone and BB with BT on-line but when it comes to putting in the previous address for the last 2 years although the postcode is accepted the actual flat number isn't but when I go through the BT site to the royal mail postcode checker it shows my flat number along with the others that the BT site doesn't show.
I would call BT but I could end up being speechless as my medication affects my speech at the most inopportune of times.
I was with BT at the old address and they never took any payment for cancelling the BB even though I left it open for around a month before cancelling the DD with the bank.
I was hoping to be on infinity by now but the start date has been put back to the end of June, I think, I use the internet a lot because it isn't affected by my speech problem.
