Any flight sales in April??

Hi,

Do the flight companies have any sales in April/Easter? Just wondering based on previous years weather they do or not.

Last sales were back in Jan and I'm looking to book something soon and wondering whether its worth waiting if there likely to be a sale of some sort.

Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing as a matter of fact. Need to book flights from Belfast to Heathrow. As far as I can tell only Aer Lingus and BMI Baby fly there from Belfast. BMI Baby haven't released flights yet for November but I'm hoping they will release them as part of a winter sale or something. :)

For the first enquiry, if you are looking for travel in April, you will not find many discounts at all, a two week school holiday followed by 4 Bank Holidays means sales are good and prices are high

For the second enquirer, seats are already on sale with BMI (not BMI Baby) for seats to London Heathrow, I see fares at £27 one way to London but fares back are a lot higher due to the crazy pricing structure of Heathrow Airport. Proper airlines such as Aer Lingus and BMI usually load fares 330 days before departure so November has been on sale for a few months already. BMI does have sales but I doubt you would get it for less than £27 anyway so if you must fly on a particular day you might as well book now

Thanks for that Alan! Actually Aer Lingus are offering free flights excluding airport taxes etc so it won't be any cheaper than this. You are spot on about Heathrow's rates. From Belfast City Inc taxes it's £23 but back to Belfast it is £53 :(

I guess there is nothing I can do about that! Anyway thanks a lot for pointing this out otherwise I would have waited for nothing!

Any idea if there may be offers for booking in April and travelling July - October?

    Thanks!

Owen22, it may depend where you want to go! Fares are high and selling well for July and August, so little chance of a sale I would have thought but more chance in September or October. The reality is that travel sales do not occur like retail sales twice a year (or in the case of DFS, endlessly) but as a result of an identified lack of sales for certain periods. June is reported to be poor so there may be last minute sales for then but if you must travel in the peak season, you usually have to pay peak fares as well.
