About 50 motorists stocked up on unleaded fuel at the petrol station in Rooley Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, on Thursday.
Drivers queued up to use the automatic card-payment pumps for about two hours until the mistake was spotted.

Asda have no case to recover any money from anyone.
Petrol is advertised at 12.9p/L, people buy petrol at 12.9p/L, payments clear and the company recieves it's money. There would be no provision in law for them to recover any money.
If the petrol was advertised at 129.9 and the system charged it out at 12.9, that's completely different. This was not the case.0 -

50 punters in 2 hours? Must have been a lot of "splash and dash" purchases!
Even assuming 50 punters saved £50 each, that's £2,500. How much would all that lovely, positive, warm and fluffy publicity have cost Asda on the open market? They should do it EVERY week!!0 -

Yeah, I know . . . . (I was refering to the post about using cctv)
I should have left a bigger gap before adding - "they know who you are" - which they obviously do without looking at the cctv. Sorry, I confuse myself sometimes.:rotfl:
As wee willy says, and it had occurred to me - cheap advertising. Hope they do it with diesel next week ...0
