I have tried it in store, but a Camcorder is something that needs to be tried under varying conditions to evaluate properly.
I didn't think they had exceptions, but asked the question in case anybody had any experience of a salesperson saying anything of that nature.
That's very clever of you. Can you also predict who will win the next World Cup? San Marino?
As per Argos, Amazon and lots of others, you mean?
Thanks Esqui. Helpful advice, without a 'moralistic' angle.
That's easy, San Marino wont win the next World Cup. Can you tell me if my wife will be happy with the results of her baking in an oven bought from the DG over a period of 3 weeks Can she return it with burnt bits attached within the 21 days?0 -
I've sent lots of electronics stuff back to Amazon. Never had a problem with them at all. Didn't notice their clause relating to specific electronic equipment though, so thanks for posting phoodless. I do tend to pack things properly, so they may just assume that it's unopened.
I'll definitely double-check my Argos purchases, but most stuff I buy from them allows for return for any reason.
Interesting...
I suspect that like me you take care when opening the packaging. I've never had a problem returning stuff to Argos or Amazon.0 -

Yes, I have often resorted to using a scalpel to carefully slice a seal
To be clear, I'm not somebody who buys stuff and takes it back as a matter of course. It's just that I will spend decent money on stuff and expect decent quality.
As we all know, marketing these days will describe a product out of all recognition and when we get that 'awesome' new £1000 camcorder home, it doesn't always turn out to be THAT awesome. I don't like being ripped off, and that is all too common with electronics.
...and if you buy a product that has been used, take it back.0
