Iphone from ebay

Hi All,
I'm getting myself into abit of a panic because I think I may have been missold an item.
I bought an iphone 3gs white 8 gig this morning from ebay.
It was described as this, and have all the screenshots to prove it.
I paid by paypal this morning, on mentioning it to someone they said they thought there was not an 8 gig version of the white 3gs, only in black.
On checking online I can't see one either, only the 16 and 32 gig versions for the white 3gs, have I been missold?
I have tried to contact the seller but no reply so far.
If they have missold the product then I want to get this sorted before they go ahead and try to deliver the item
I tried to call ebay but have been told I must get a pin but I can't access the ebay website to sort all that out because it's a blocked site at work
anyone?

I can only find the 3g version for the 8 gig, which makes me think they are trying to pull a fast one!!0

Might help to provide a link to the auction so peeps can have a look. A quick google does seem to suggest that there's no such thing as an 8gb white 3GS though...0

The current iPhone 3GS originally came in 16GB and 32GB models. Once the iPhone 4 was released, they brought out an 8GB version of the 3GS, and as far as I know it has only ever been in black. There was never a white 8GB 3G or 3GS as far as I know, only the 16GB versions came in white0

Hi
I can't get on ebay to give you the direct link, again blocked at work
but the item number is: 250796900884
When I search online for the white 3GS 8 gig it only brings up the 3G version there is no mention anywhere of a 3GS

You could probably get a replacement case for this? Maybe that is what the seller has done?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/APPLE-IPHONE-REPLACEMENT-CASING-WHITE/dp/B003BZSV1Q
I think there is no physical difference between 3g and 3gs, so the case would fit(?).0 -
The seller looks genuine enough - 100% feedback with a decent number of ratings. Not great that there's no pictures though.
The fact that is says the phone has 'the latest software' would indicate it is a 3GS as IIRC the newest firmware doesn't support the 3G.
I'm guessing they've made a genuine mistake; not much to do other than hope they get back to you!
Edit; F_T_Buyer's point would also make sense!0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the replies, not sure what you mean about the replacement case sorry.
They have sold the item and described it in text as a 3GS.
Although there isn't much difference physically between the 2, inside there is and if I had known it was a 3G, 2 versions older than the iphone 4 now I wouldn't have bothered.
This is my own fault for not researching it before buying it, I thought it was a steal at £200 and impulsed bought it at 8 this morning.
I've contacted Paypal who tell me I must file a claim online and they would investigate, but that could take weeks, I never hardly use ebay and now I know why.0 -
ahh gotcha about the replacement case, maybe it was a black iphone before?
lets hope so, still waiting to hear back from the seller

Yes, that's what I meant. All you can do is wait to see what they say.0 -
I've also asked for the IMEI number of the phone, I can then check what type it is.
If it is a 3GS then they will happily give me the number.
Still a ballache though
