Applied today and got the welcome to email a few hours later, so it looks like it is getting quicker, maybe the initial rush for cards has passed.
As I got the welcome to email, so it appears I'm almost home and dry, but of course it hasn't been unknown for people to be refused right upto the first attempt to use a credit card, so not counting my chickens quite yet.0 -
i was originally declined via email within an hour but i got the decline letter today and rung them up to get them to reconsider- after getting my D.O.B and address wrong, I was accpeted!:o)0

Do you mean you got accepted via email within an hour, or that they actually declined you in an email and still sent a decline letter as well.
Glad to see you got one in the end.0 -

M&S cards are issued by HSBC who have their application processing /customer service centres outsourced to India;hence you received the email from xyz@hsbc.co.in0 -
Got mine today, it has a low limit of £1500 but am happy enough with that. It took 20 days from applying.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0

Thanks for all the replies, I never did get an email from them but about 2 weeks later I got a letter saying I've been accepted and to sign the green form and send bk.. which I did.. then I got another letter yesterday saying they've not received it and that if I want to accept they need to get my signature on the green form so I sent that one off again yesterday.0
