Will Tesco Mobile E900 work with 02 sim

Want this for my son for christmas but tesco cant say for sure if it will work with the 02 sim. They will not refund either if we try and find it doesnt work, we can get it unlocked but that would probably affect the warranty. Ive got an 02 phone which works with a Tesco sim but will it work the other way?

No I don't believe that it will work the other way, just like a Virgin SIM will work in a T-Mobile phone but a T-Mobile SIM won't work in a Virgin phone unless unlocked.

I've got loads of phones and sims, including both Tesco and O2 Sims but my O2 won't work in the tesco phones. Eg. My Vodaphone E900 works great with Tesco and O2 sims, but my Tesco older nokia is blocked to only Tesco.

Remember, unlocking the phone is usually around a tenner, so could be worth your while.

Final thought, a friendly staff member wouldn't probably know if you'd slipped your own SIM card into the phone. If you get a non-Tesco phone, Tesco are giving away Sims and upto 1000 Clubcard points each. Need to have a Tesco mobile no 1st to get, though.

Could be worth considering getting a really cheap contract phone (not all of us stretch to or want this of course!) and then using a Tesco sim in it.

Eg. e2save have 12 months 'free' on tmobile, on Relax 30 for 'FREE' and other deals.

Such discounted rentals mean that you have to pay upfront and send in bills for rebates. Many seem happy with this, but I realise some of us just want to pay as we go along - perhaps you, as you asked for PAYG?

Tesco's return policy is
'You can change your mind and tell us that you would like to return items as follows: for pay as you go phones and accessories, within 28 days of receipt of the item'

I have just got this for my son for Christmas. I bought it from Lx Direct, the price comes up at £169 on Orange but it's in the Christmas brochure for £145 so I rang them up and then also used a 10% off code so got it for £130.50 and it is unlocked as I tried it with my o2 sim.

Better price!

Orange phones are locked to their network, so would incur an unlocking charge. Carphone warehouse purchases are reportedly unlocked, though check with sales staff,

OK, some great ideas there only my sons already on a contract with O2 and just wants a new handset as hes had an accident with his one and didnt take out the insurance for replacement. Was thinking about getting it from Tesco as its about £130 after staff discount and various offers and money off coupons.
