Back in the dark 'n distant days when I was at school and the teachers "accidentally" used an indelible pen on the whiteboard they would just go over it with a drywipe pen and it would come right off.

Vodka ain't that recreational the morning after :( (not smartprice vodka anyway)

yes as a scientist we use markers to label glass wear, acetone (nailvarnish remover contains it) is v effective, and just use a bit of kitchen roll with it on. petrol will work too, another thing is anything with a high alcohol content, maybe vodka?! havent tried it but i know various alcohols make it come off so maybe worth a shot if u have that and not the others too hand.

As a fellow scientist (hi there) we did the same - nail varnish remover (acetone), or meths or white spirit (why waste good vodka!).
