So happy :j
Just found out that those on benefits can get BT line rental for £13.80 a quarter rather than per month. That will save me £110.40 a year! :j
Rather impressed with that saving, on the hunt for some more savings tonight i think xBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -

At a health shop got 30ml of Lavender Oil for £5.49 was half price, cheaper than B00ts(£8.15 for 20ml). Used a 10% off Rymans voucher to use against purchase of ink cartridges - £6.30 saved. Managed to get £5 off my monthly contract for my mobile, so should be roughly £10 monthly. Got hairspray - deal 2 for £6 so saved roughly £2. Did resist buying any more hair conditioner at the weekend, so saved roughly £5. Still got some hair conditioner to use up first. Cannot believe we are halfway through the year.
A little tip: if you keep all of your empty ink cartridges and list them on Ebay as a bundle they will sell like hot cakes! i just sold my last 4 for around £20 which is great considering i'd normally have binned them. :TBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -

Also sending out leaflets and flyers with your orders so poeple can pass them on to friends when they ask where they got that cool T shirt from etc? Cuckoo. xx
Tumpty You could also try some larger employers - they tend to have some sort of employee health/benefits things going - ours do maternity packs etc so they may stick a flyer in with that?
I'm going to be really cheeky here - your website is really attractive and looks great but I wonder if the metadata is correct. I tried a search on G**gle and it didn't come up in the list of results (certainly not in the 1st couple of pages which are the ones most people look at). Might be worth having a look at this as this will be how most people find you.gingerandrubarb wrote: »A little tip: if you keep all of your empty ink cartridges and list them on Ebay as a bundle they will sell like hot cakes! i just sold my last 4 for around £20 which is great considering i'd normally have binned them. :T
Never thought of that - I give mine to a charity but may have a bash as have about 8 sitting to be posted off to them!:o
I'm still around, just not posting a lot as don't want to depress anyone.
Things tough at the minute - friend died last week, work is ....... difficult, old dog unwell etc etc.
On a more positive note, have a garage full of stuff to go to car boot - pal & I talking about it yest and def going one Sun in June.
Peas managed to survive the storms last week:) and are growing madly, but unfortunately my wee greenhouse (one of the plastic ones) didn't:(. Will keep the poles etc for stakes but very disappointed as spinach, lettuce etc ruined.
Have spent the afternoon planting out my beans:D so fingers crossed they turn out OK too.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hello fellow frugallers:j
I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend Rising in the Ashes- that must be very hard.
Some more very good frugal tips posted today- thank you!
Frugal activities today...I have discovered that our local Waitrose do quite hearty reductions....none of this 10p off a pizza malarky. Usually, much as I enjoy the merchandise, it is beyond my grocery budget but by visiting once a week [I make a detour on my way home] I've found some good stuff the last 3 weeks. From there I've come home and based a menu on some of the goodies and written a shopping list to fill in the gaps for when I do the main shop tomorrow.
I am delighted to report that I am the proud owner of new gladrags today a waistcoat and a dress and all without prising open the gnat bottomed purse. Two of my students gave me the items as presents [they're not new] which was a lovely but totally unexpected surprise.
Until tomorrow...
Arilx

am waiting in today for the desk, so thought it would be a NSD but i need petrol and its cheaper to buy 6 miles away than it is to get near work which is in the opposite direction... humm, gotta figure out if thats worth the trip or not...
i had my first NSD in ages yesterday! thanks to my homemade cake and Not going to the shops on the way to my friends, which i walked to aswell.
we had the last of the last roast chicken for dinner - dry frozen so wasnt expecting much but i marinated it in lemon juice and fried it with onions, cold potatoes cut up small and served it with salad in a pitta with garlic-y yogurt and called it a Greek Pitta... there were no complaints and my fridge is looking nice and empty. pita for a pittance! :rotfl: what is everyone else doing for dinner tonight?

i've just updated my Signature for the first time in ages and noticed something... i had a challenge to buy no toilitries or stationary till April... well it's june now and apart from a 1.50 stationary slip and a needed deodorant and toothpaste (as i'd successfully USED UP what i had) i did actually do it!
and on top of that... i'm no longer looking at all the stationary in shops, let alone buying it! i saw a cute union jack patchwork notebook for (only!) 1.99 last week and it didnt even occur to me to buy it.... when before i'd have probably bought 2... i think i can actually say that i have a new money-healthy habbit!:j :j :j and i just wanted to cheer about that for a minuteRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23.
