Thank you.
Errrm....and could you tell me what flour you were using please?0 -
I use bread or pasta flour because it has a higher gluten content and it stretches and can be rolled really thin.
Im so sorry Lola for the tragedy and pain you are having to endure. Its all so pointless and without purpose that they lost their lives and that you lost a major part of yours too.
Its important that you dont waste a minute of your life and your friend would really want you to get out there and grab a slice. Even if this man doesnt come back home you have made a friend and its probably given you some confidence to get out there and meet some more people. Donna was lucky that no matter how short her life she found true happiness with her family and Im sure she would want you to have some happiness too. The little kitten is going to be lucky to have such a loving home !0 -
First of all, hugs and kisses to Lola, who is going through absolute hell. It's good that you've been able to cry - I think pent-up feelings do us all no good at all, and it's a welcome release.
Well, I'm getting ready to go on my Super Frugal Royal Wedding Trip! The sun is shining here in Essex, and it's a darn sight warmer than it was a couple of hours ago. I'm getting the trains to Westminster (should take about half an hour), using my Freedom Pass, then I shall walk all around Parliament Square, looking and chatting to the Brave Sleepies, who are camping out.
Then a bus along Whitehall, alighting at Trafalgar Square, where I shall have my packed lunch - smoked salmon rolls (I buy super-cheap offcuts!) and fruit. Then I shall walk along The Mall, stopping at Buckingham Palace to admire the bunting, stroll past the Goring Hotel, waving to The Middletons, and then treat myself to a fresh cream cake and coffee at Victoria, and then come home.
On Saturday, a friend and I will be going to the West End, and will do the rounds of the big stores, getting our free samples of face creams.
Have a super Bank Holiday weekend everyone, and after a third of the year, here's hoping we've all saved something!!!!

Good morning
well, I had a clear out of some of my old socks. Decided to turn them into dusters, but didn't want to get them confused with 'good' pairs of socks, so I thought I'd chop the elastic bit off them to make them obvious. Upshot of it is now, I have a huge range of colourful and soft elastics that are perfect for tying my hair with! I didn't even think about a hair band when I started chopping them off my socks.0 -
Heres a thought for old socks especially colourful ones....You may not have thought of this........
I work as a b
t with a
s and sometimes I take in P
s. being flappy squawking birds who often bite when they come in to T
m F--m S
y I use old socks to play Amazon games. They quite often view a hand puppet sock as a friendly figure and become happier. Yellow dusters work as well and the trick is to poke your fingers out of the end like a beak.
My ex did something similar with a biting GSD and a paper carrier bag from S
s but covered his head with it. The dog chomped the bag and I laughed for hours.0 -
Not much going on. Went into M&S food hall yesterday after work to just buy some cake and ended up spending nearly £16. Most of the items were special offers and got my Mum a breast of turkey, which was reduced from £5.49 to £3. That will do my Mum for 3 dinners. Just found out that they do reduce their food at a certain time. Never been in there when they have done that. Did save £6.35 with all the deals, so my Mum and I are happy. We do need a nice treat every so often. Am hoping to not to spend too much at Mr A on Saturday with the normal food shopping.
Still trying to go out for a walk when I can and am doing a bit more around the flat.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Sending hugs to those who need them.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Hello everyone, what a busy (and not frugal) day I've had. DM wanted to go to the big M*arks & S*pencer in town so drove her up. Had a lovely try on of way too many clothes, whittled it down to 3, put 2 back & DM bought the remaining one for me for taking her:D which was really, really nice of her. I did end up buying 6 (yes 6) new bras - was really desperate for new ones as mine are all falling to pieces & the wrong size. Got measured & as suspected I'm now a totally different size. There was a gorgeous red/black set (£20) and also a black/white set (£16) which were B1G1 1/2 price. Just HAD to have the red one so I ended up with 6:eek:, however, I did get another £5 off for spending over £35 so the total was £39 which I guess wasn't too bad.
Suffering guilty feelings now and I know that I should run and throw all the old ones in the bin before I'm tempted to take some of the new ones back for a refund.:o
Popped to D*bbies and got a few bits for the 4 legged people and then stopped at B*&*Q where both DM & I managed to get a load of plastic pot trays FREE!:D Managed to get several different sizes (after nearly disappearing into the cage to try to get the ones DM wanted, which of course were right at the bottom) & will be really good for growing seedlings/potting them on.
Redglass my SoW has been suffering from neglect too - it's just been toooooo nice outside. I've also a pile of receipts waiting to be entered and must do it over the weekend.
Sandra enjoy your trip to London.:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hello fellow frugallers:j
Well I am mightily confused as my post from this morning has disappeared- I wasn't aware of any racy comments- only the current offer on sugar in Mr T and a link for an uncopywrited recipe for wallflower wine. Ah well. How curious!
It's been a successful frugal day here today- weekly shop done with lots of bargains and stocking up for £44 and we invested a princely £3 on a glass pie dish from the CS which will come in handy for all our hm goodies. I've also foraged nettles and wild garlic which has been turned into soup for tonight's supper [added some of the garlic flowers aswell for a change]
This evening I shall be using my jumble sale shredding scissors to shred all the receipts before adding them to the compost [I get a strange satisfaction being able to do this without using the electric shredder:rotfl:]
Shall crack open a bottle of rowan berry wine shortly and enjoy a glass
Aril
PS Hugs Lola

Hello everyone.
I haven't posted here for ages as nothing spectacular has happened and I get worried that I'll bore people. I've been frugalling away though and collected the reward today.... I bought myself a lovely shiny new car. not very frugal itself but I got a very good deal. It will also help me to earn more money through doing tutoring. The wealthy pushy parents that can afford tutors all live in the suburbs which are miles from my house which made it impossible before. Fingers crossed I get get enough clients to make the car money neutral. Thank you all for you inspiring posts. I wouldn't have managed this without you guys! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0
