Made me laugh about the email address jo!
Are you pleased with your invited double mummy? I'm heading to hobbycraft today to get the bits to start making mine. Sending the save the dates out today!
Have been looking at my budget spreadsheet and looks like we still need another £4k. Yikes! I know we still have 8 months but need to save save save. Hope I haven't mis-judged what we can actually save in that time.0 -
No Angel, thats the same as us, we're going to be cutting out anything thats not needed and cutting down on our nights out, etc. But we still have 3 weddings to go to before ours and I've also got 3 hen dos, again, not counting mine. Reckon we can save another 4-5K if we're careful. Had a mild panic attack about the honeymoon, then figured that if we pay it on the credit card, we can always pay it off after the wedding if we dont save quite enough for that.0

it was just to stop OH seeing the email... I'm not crazy... Promise!!! I haven't and am not using it for anything else!!!
Havent heard anything yet, but did only send it aroun 12 hours ago!!
Need to start making mine soon- kind of hit a slump with the crafty stuff! We have a 'wedding planning day' booked in our diary for 9th feb, so should get some stuff done then- even if not any crafty stuff (we have yet to get a guillotine).
Our saving is goin OK, the savings account doesn't seem to be shrinking, but growing a bit, so assuming I am saving more than I am spending! That's good!!:T0 -
i did try making some but they looked terrible so i have chickened out and am now paying someone to do them
but they are very cheap.......... cheaper than me making 300 wrong when i need 50 invites ........ its better for the environment less wasted paper and card and glue and ink and everything else
No angel you'll be able to do it!!!The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -

Good idea about paying the honeymoon on a credit card - just incase! Discussed this with OH and he thinks it's a good idea, as it's the easiest thing to have on credit.
Well done on your successful saving jo! We need some tips, haha! Have cut back lots on going out, take-aways, trips home (petrol is expensive!) and have agreed to lots of overtime this month, so hopefully we'll get there!
Made a sample invite today and left it on the table for when OH came home. He saw it and thought it was one someone else sent as he thinks it looks professional! Yay! Only took a few minutes too, so going to buy in bulk and get crafting.0 -
Well as far as savings go we have always put bits away for holidays etc, it is just going in to a different account before I even see it! Then I don't miss it.
OH has to save for the honeymoon though!
Yay at your sample invite NoAngel! Do we we get a peek at it?
The email I sent to the dressmaker bounced backso I have filled in the online request form... just waiting for someone to get back! I am so impatient!!!

SHP2 for free delivery (can use both)
Don't know if they are any use to you?
thanks for this - will have a go tomorrow (hope its still on then)0 -
I'm also in the process of making my own invites (can't remember if I've already mentioned it or not
so anyways have printed out all the inserts onto A4, now I need to slice and dice into 3, then glue and ribbon onto the backing card - I did buy some "snowstorm" sparkly vellum and am undecided whether to use this as an overlay on the top...decisions. I did buy the vellum to originally use on the lanterns (to mask the clear glass) then put flickering tealights inside (battery ones - no fires over here please!), but they weren't very bright once I did it so changed my mind.
so nice to hear how everyone's getting on0 -
woo - ordered my tiara today and its been despatched already! :j (thanks to johannalf for the code)
what's everyone else up to at the mo? I've got to:
- start assembling the invites
- email the 3 florists I had in mind to give me some prices
- cobble a list of photos I want on the day and email it to the photographer (no rush on this really) and also send him examples of the types of shots I like/want
- send the booking form and deposit off to the videographer
that'll do for now...can imagine the invites taking up a LOT of my time over the next couple of weeks! :rotfl:0 -
That's OK- glad I could be of help.
Well haven't really got much wedding stuff done over the weekend. OH has been working, but I have figured out we can print the addresses straight on to the envelopes (:)) and have sorted the printing bit. All that needs to be done is printing and assembling.... So the complicated bit! :rotfl:
Also got another usher gift through. So that's another thing sorted.
Oh I have almost worn my OH down on the shoe front! He has actually said that I should just get them, but he is not happy about it! N i want him to be happy or i will feel guilty, and when i see the shoes I will just think how i wore him down. Sooo I have said that if I can get £150 extra (from non-planned income) I will get them! (that's how much over my shoe budget they are!!!)
So any ideas how I can make £150? Already looking into letting our flat out for the Olympics!!:T0
