hey all - not been on here for a while but have been busy beavering away with plans. its so lovely to here all of your plans are coming together. since I last was on here I have done the following:
- went dress shopping last saturday and got one AND in budget (just! lol)
- ordered suits with H2B on monday afternoon
- spotted my bridesmaid dresses (hopefully) in Debenhams over the weekend and now have them reserved until tomorrow when I can go and pay for them (with 25% off in the mega event!!!), one fits as I got one BM to try it on, the other one can't get into town so buying her size anyway and taking over for her to try it on on Monday, if no good will have to return both and start again (or hope that they have another size for her!)#
- booked appointment to give notice - Sat 26th Nov.
- bought my BARGAIN lanterns for my centrepieces (if someone can tell me how to post an image on here I will gladly share with you) - have decided I'm going to put battery operated tealights in them (which I'm waiting to arrive from china - ebay), then undecided between putting some sparkly vellum on them over the glass and/or to dress them with pearly bits and flowers...hmmm...still thinking about that one! Oh and the lanterns were reduced in Poundstretcher (also called Instore) to £2.99 each - they are black ones.
- ordered my chair covers and table runners (from a lady who has just set up her own business after dressing her own wedding last year)
erm....
- organised the coach to take the Yorkshire contingent down to North Wales (they are paying for it themselves, we have just booked it!)
- ordered all the card, paper and ribbon to make my own invites - have decided to have a chequebook style so can have a few inserts in there.
Things to do next:
- book videographer
- contact florist (part of my package at the hotel gives me a top table/registration centrepiece thing so gonna see what they can do and also options for bouquets, buttonholes, etc.....altho need to plan carefully as I'm getting married 100 miles away from where I live! Am visiting over Xmas and am hoping they will be open for me to go and see them)
- start designing invites!!
erm....can't think of anything else at mo as Xmas is coming up and I'm sure everything else can wait until afterwards....
my goodness this is a long post....0 -
oh remembered something else on my to-do list:
contact the hotel and tell them about the changes we want regarding drinks and the fact that we do not want to pay through the nose for their "cheapest" plonk that we have never tasted and have no idea what it is like, but we now want to pay corkage and bring our own nice vino!0 -
just another thought...would any of you lovely brides (and grooms if there are any floating about) like me to edit my original first post with a list of dates of when we are all getting married so we can all keep track of each other's big days next year?? please post below with your date and I will add you to the list! Oh and just to be fancy, tell me if you have a colour scheme and I will try and put your name in your colour!! (now I think I may be taking this a bit too far...
)
