:jA year today for me! Wopee!! :T

Me too very exciting :j although the day didn't start off great :o

booked the registrar today took me 20 mins to get to speak to someone and when I did the time I wanted was gone  I wanted 1pm all they could offer me was 12pm or 4pm. So I went for 12pm and I really didn't like the woman on the phone she just seemed to want to get me off the phone as quickly as possibly. I was quite upset about it all this morning with not getting the time I wanted and her attitude but I've calmed down now and feel ok about it. Just means a bit more time to kill in the afternoon and I might just bring the evening reception forward to 7pm so it won't feel too bad.

And me :j. Just thinking about what I'll be doing this time next year - hopefully enjoying the party :T. Haven't been on here much recently as feeling guilty about my not very MSE wedding dress. :o.. however may have redeemed myself by getting my 4 bridesmaid dresses & stoles for £300 when debenhams had their 25% off event :).
 Married 06/10/12 - Best day of my life
  • Had a weird dream about my wedding last night!! Everyone was just sitting round tables when I walked through, then I was just about to go down the aisle and I looked down at my feet (I had a shortish dress on) and I had a hideous pair of ivory point feathery wedding shoes!! I was mortified! Started asking where my trainers were!! I really wasnt happy.

I am getting married in trainers btw :) x

Awesome! Didn't think of wearing trainers...! Going shoe shopping today, so will use that as an option if I find nothing!

  • When I was little I was a tomboy and my dad always joked I would get married in trainers so I'm doing it! I'm a lot more comfortable in them than shoes and they are more me :) plus im 5"8 so a lot of dresses are just the right length for me with flats on :)

I've been searching everywhere for a pair of bay trees to hire, once I got the idea in my head I wanted them that was it!!! Managed to find chair cover company (not the one recomended by the hotel) which has these as well, the lady was so lovely and responded to my emails straight away even though it was late last night!!! Plus she isn't charging me for the trees :j very MSE!!!!

Mind you I then ended up added something else I wasn't going to :rotfl:, the venue has a red carpet for the ceremony and my mum started saying how it wouldn't look very nice with my colours (pink & blue) which then started me thinking about it. The hire company had a cream carpet runner to hire for only £25 so I added that. I know its only for a hour but will make a big difference with the photos :)

I'm so excited now that I've found my bay trees much better mood today than yesterday, plus she has a pink sash which almost matches by bridesmaid dress whereas the other company didn't.

oooh youve now got me thinking of a purple carpet for mine !! im undecided about chair covers though, i thought about candles down the aisle instead but dont know if it might be too much of a fire risk lol.
The ceremony is at 2pm i just wish it a little dark when we get married the ceiling at our venue has twinkling lights in the ceiling and i thought along with the candles it would be so romantic :(

The company I found only had a cream carpet but its a lot better than the red that the hotel has!! Love the idea of candles down the aisle and the lights on the ceiling will amazing in the evening! We are having candles on the tables rather than flowers and I've brought wedding matches to make sure they are lite. There are lights on the bay trees which I know will be totally wasted during the ceremony as it's at 12pm but they will like nice in the evening if I can make my mind where they will go in the room in the evening :D

Decided on the song I want to walk in on today as well, we are going to have Adele Make Me Feel Your Love as our 1st song as its a song which a lot to us as a couple so I listened to the instrumental version today and it made me well up so it's not a difficult choice really! Such a beautiful song :)

Went to look to at wedding rings today and ended up putting a deposit down. Yellow gold for oh and White gold, diamond set for me. As I got my engagement ring from there even got 10% off so saved £50.
