I'm a bit of a late joiner but we are getting married on 27 October! We only booked it last week so we could get a good deal on a beautiful location :)
I'm now panicking a bit as nothing much is yet organised! I will be reading the thread to find out as many tips as possible! x

Welcome to the October brides Mel!

Don't be panicicking, just decide what things are most important and book them!
You have the venue sorted, the next thing is probably the dress for you.

The things we organised first were as follows

    Venue - church & Hotel
    Band
    Photographer
    Videographer
    Dress
    Bridesmaid Dresses
    Flowers
    Invitations
    Tranpsort
    Suits for the men

We still have a number of things to do including

Wedding rings - I've picked mine - OH doing his this weekend.

Don't panic and just do one thing at a time! Enjoy the planning

Welcome Mel, I agree with lazer, once you get these things out of the way you'll be most of the way there and a lot calmer!

Well... I have had quite a day... Just found out I am going to be made redundant on 30 th October. So have to find a new job before then, bit annoyed as kind of have something big planned in October! :rotfl:
I expected some redundecies, but they are cutting my role- (they won't survive without us thou!!) oh well, I wanted to move on anyway, it's just crummy timing!
Anywhoo, sorry to bring bad news!

    Welcome Mel!

There is a chance, they are talking about re-deployment. I just don't think it is very likely tbh. There are 50 of us at least being let go!

But I will try. Don't want to be at home bored again- I did that for 6 weeks before I got my first job. I almost went out of my mind! I was soo bored!

Its not good timing for you now! Hope you at least get a decent redundancy if you don't get re-deployed.

    Good luck

Ah Jo, that timing sucks! Hopefully you'll get something else or good redundancy.

It's not good redundency because I started work when I was under 22! It's 'legal' age discrimination! It's crappy any way, but everyone's is crappy really unless u have worked there for decades! But I thought it was at least fair, not taking an arbitrary point which I have no control over to determine money! I am really  about that!

Don't suppose anyone is in publishing?! That's what I actually want to do.
