We sent ours in June, it was going to be July, but we have a friend who went travelling at end of June, n he is not back until a month before our wedding (our RSVP by date). People also tend to go in holiday in August, so quite a few people wouldn't have a lot of time to book hotels etc. We are getting married away from where we live, so our friends have to travel- just wanted to give them enough time really.

I think here in NI we tend to send them out later - I was intending on sending them out 8 weeks before - but have been told 6 is more common (But i'm still sending out 8 weeks before - with RSVP date 3 weeks before the wedding.

People already know they are invited and a numbe rof people traveliing have booked flights the hotel etc

Ooh, also remembered that we're finally able to give notice now - need to dig out the forms and make sure we've got all the documentation ready. And ordering the BM's dresses tonight, its getting too close for comfort!
