Unlocked A835 won't work with T Mobile
A chap on this forum unlocked 3 phones for me by post. One was a Motorola A835 that was locked to the 3 network.
It now works with Vodafone and I think 02, but won't work with my T mobile contrat sim. The screen just freezes when its turned on. There is no mention of "invalid sim etc"
My V3 keeps breaking itself - front screen cracks very easily and it will need to go for repair again, so I would like to use it as a stop gap.
Can anyone please help me here?

I don't want to go down the claim route. The phone is worth diddly squat anyway and is a good PAYG phone with the free vodafone sim. It would just be useful for me to use it with the T Mobile sim. It may stand up to more than the V3, wich doesnt seem to be able to last more than a few days without falling apart.
The problems with the v3 are completely unrelated.

this is a known problem with the a835

its not a fault with the unlocking but maybe due to the phone s/w? it is also known on some of the 3g nec phones
sorry i dont know what the fix is but maybe a software upgrade could fix it?0 -
hi,
the problem is caused by 3 sims using a different sim voltage than 2g sims. it effects most early 3g handsets including moto a835, nec 616, nec 388 etc. sims effected are early orange ones and new t-mobile ones.
but virgin sims will work in the handset and they use the same network.
