V3 very fragile??
A couple of weeks ago I took my V3 mobile out of my pocket and saw that the glass screen was cracked.
This has now been repaired under the mobile phone insurance scheme. I eventually got it back last week.
On Friday exactly the same thing happened again!
I now have to fork out another £25 excess and get it repaired again.
I never dropped it or mistreated it in any way. I simply keep it in the pocket.
Do I complain that it is not fit for use or am I just unlucky?

I have a V3, just upgraded to KRZR. My mum and sister also have them. Of all the problems we've had we haven't had cracked screens. Surely something must have happened to put pressure on the screen?0

Sorry I meant the outer lense - the glass bit.
The LCDs fine.
I phoned the insurance and they'll look into it. Because of the way it broke again they have agreed to investigate it.
My next upgrade can't come soon enough!Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
out glass lens is only a couple of £ to buy and is just held on with double sided tape so is easy to change
they do seem to break easy though as i must have changed 20 or so0 -
i work in the mobile industy , i would say in my opinion the screens are pretty robust and the v3 is thin and vunerable to accidental damage but only if they get a whack or something, or you had a faulty one in the beginning that may explain the fault.0

I think yours was faulty - my V3 is nearly 3 years old, has been beat about, subject to Malaysia's tropical climate and even dropped on pavement twice and nary a scratch.0

Could you steer me in the right direction please, I may see a DIY repair coming on here....;)
If it's a question of paying £25 "excess" to get it repaired, or getting it done by someone like you for less, I know which I'd rather do.
I'm hoping that I can pursuade the insurers to change it FOC on the basis that they've just changed the last one and they may have done something to stress the new screen.
The odd thing is that we have two of these in our household, only one seems to be giving us trouble and they both get treated the same.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

Thanks James.
I may yet do that, however Allianze Cornhill, who it is insured with have agreed to repair it again without chargin the excess. It makes me laugh though I suspect the excess pays for the whole repair and leaves them a tidy profit on top!
I should expect it back tomorrow but if it happened to meet with a fatal accident before I received it I would not be unhappy;)Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
