I have been with aol for several year's, ..I was paying £14.99 month, but they put the price up to £19.99 month. I have my phone/line rental with YourCalls, happy with them and got this bill down to around £22. month.
Yourcalls will do broadband for £12.99, plus free for the first 3 months -which with the phone would be around £35 month (but hoping to get the phone bill down £3).Aol will do Broadband and phone for £14.99, but i have find someone to do the line rental with (BT is £13.20month)which puts that at £28.49..or do i go with BT at £27.00 month with offer of £13.50 for the first 3 months.. I dont want lot hassle changing around, think it might be best to go with Yourcall deal, i'am not sure about going with BT. Aol there is the line rental to find, which they suggested Talk talk, but not sure about them in my area. They all seem to end up around £29 month, with everything taken into consideration..Does anyone have any advice for me on this, i have up till 25 April..before another charge from aol..
Just wished they had told me of increased charges so i had time to look around before taking more money off me..

I've been with AOl for about 12 years too. Transferred my calls to them about 3 years ago. Line rental with BT. BT charge me £2.70 for caller display too. AOL is also part of Talk Talk, that's why they recommended them to you. If you are not tied into a contract with AOL then I suggest you call them up and say you are going elsewhere, they will give you a better deal, I can guarantee you that.
I was looking to move from AOL but they gave me a very good deal that matched Talk Talk more or less. I have broadband and unlimited calls 24/7 for £7.20 per month and it's only 12 month contract. I can't move my landline to them which would work out cheaper because my exchange hasn't been updates to ADSL2 apparently.
Worth giving them a call, but choose option 4, 'thinking of leaving' option that will take you to the Ireland callcentre.Even time will never heal these scars0 -
I'll echo the experience of this, as I had the same experience (though it was the Indian call centre, perhaps it depends on the time of day. The call centre was fine though, best its ever been for me). But my contract was for 18 months, not 12. Perhaps I should have haggled. So if your contract has expired you should be able to get down to £10.20 - £3 (my line rental is with BT also). Try to get unlimited calls and unlimited (though subject to fair use I'd imagine) internet too, they should be free.I've been with AOl for about 12 years too. Well thanks to this forum, I recently moved from AOL to BT.
AOL suddenly went from £14.99 to £15.98, then up to £17.30. No notification/warning of either although I now know the reason for the 1st increase.
Last October I paid my BT rental up front so paying an effective £9.xx a month, also took the £4.99 Anytime calls deal, then last month negotiated Option 3 bb for £13 including my calls deal.
The bb changeover went without a hitch, got the HH3 working without any problems, and I'm now getting 5megs whereas the best I ever got with AOL was 2.8megs.
PS. Had to e-mail AOL twice to get my MAC.David.0 -
We have reviewed your account for all the broadband options available to us at this time, we have a system called Local Loop Unbundle which uses an alternative system to BT wholesale reducing the costs greatly however this is new technology currently unavailable at your exchange and they have not planned to upgrade this as yet.
..so i take it this leaves me having to pay more, because we don't have LLU, they all out at around £27.00 with line rental.. which option to take asking for Mac code or easier just to move phone..
thanks for all the advice..0 -

Have you tried the link macman posted to see if there are any LLU providers at your exchange?

I spoke aol today, who did offer we 3 month's free broadband and anytime calls, paying only my line rental. They said in 3 months they may have line rental and i can have the full package. sounded ok so i explained i was with Yourcalls for the line rental, he said there was no problem so i was put threw to another person to finish the agreement.. who said you have to have BT line.. which it what i had spent hour explaining. Phoned Bt who said if i wanted just the line i would have to sign up to 12 months contract.. why..so wasted afternoon and no further. Has anyone signed up to Broadband with Yourcalls? just bit worried about moving broadband and going with someone who i end up without being able to get on the internet with..i know it's MSE crime but think i might side on the safe side and roll with paying extra ..:(0

Yourcalls is a BT line, they're just a BT reseller. You don't have to pay line rental to BT to have a 'BT line'.No free lunch, and no free laptop
