Its been a few years since I went, but we walked everywhere! Take some comfy boots or trainers! I love walking anyway, but we planned our days so we could walk to an area and do all the things which were together, then walked back. Must have saved a fortune on cab fares, and also you get to visit the shops and buildings, which you would have missed otherwise. I think we only got 4 cabs in 5 days, 2 of which were from and to the airport, and one was when I was a little merry after a night at Coyote Ugly!

Also, I think we picked up some tourist brochures from our hotel and used some coupons for tourist places.

    Have a fab time!

    Hi,

Sign up for alerts via Travel Zoo (US site). They do daily deals for lunch & dinner and theatre tickets, although try Broadway Box for those (I think that's what it's called).

Use the subway if where you're going is too far to walk - we bought ride tickets, ie 6 rides, you then swipe the ticket then pass it back to your companion so you get 3 rides each that way, think it was about $10 then you can also add more rides to it.

Look on the All things New York forum on here, Mark4M is brilliant, really helpful on all things NY and you should find some really useful posts.

Have a great time, we loved it!!

I have bought vouchers from the New York Groupon site in the past. No problems with using them.
