Is this Cost of Conveyancing OK?

Hi,

I asked this before but the post has vanished.. how much should conveyancing cost?

We're buying a bungalow for £259k.

What is the average cost of conveyancing including searches and land registry?

Is £1872 inclusive of all searches and land registry and vat etc. ok?

    I would have said more like £1,400 but it depends on where you are.Your fees might be higher and the search costs could be different.

    Sounds pretty expensive. Our cost is £1,350 incl. searches and VAT, on a place valued at £690k in London.

    It seems high to me matt, our fees in wiltshire would be about £1230 not including stamp duty which is £7770
    Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

    Agreed it's high. I'd expect no more than £1200 inclusive.

    I was thinking the same. Even your lowly provincial mortgage broker gets a freebie from the firm he introduces to...! :D

    we paid £1400 for a very problematic purchase that took six months..so yours is high

    we also had a good solicitor who enjoyed the challenge of the purchase, they had to hold hands of the sellers solicitors
    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Nope, just buying a flat to live in (-:

    To be more accurate, that is what it would cost. But as it's my godfather, we're just paying for the actual disbursements
