Put on a dvd last night and whilst picture is fine there was no sound, tried a second dvd to check it wasnt a prob with disk.

I cant work out how the sound can suddenly stop on the dvd player. As Im useless at techi stuff, is it possible for that to happen or have I made a mess of something else?

The tv is definitely not on mute - the sound on the tv channels was fine.

Scart lead isn't fully inserted, probably.

If that doesn't fix it, swap SCART sockets. then swap SCART leads to narrow down the fault.

Oh really, something that simple, that would be marvellous. I think I have an HDMI?

So it's a Blu-Ray player? Same principle applies, isolate each component/socket in turn.
