Id recommend against using NORMAN. It tends to pick up a lot of false positives, and as an av program its very poor compared to the best

Comodo Cleaning Essentials is in beta and does not have to be installed. Both the scanner and the killswitch (very useful tool) can be run from a stick.

Have a look on this thread for some links - http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=291248

1.6.something is the latest, but doesn't have DACS (that's still in 1.5.something)

Interesting - giving it a go! Been running nearly two hours while I've been out (netbook).

Edit: well it's done now. It sure takes it's time, but I'm sure it's thorough. It found itself suspicious (killswitch.exe), & Voipcheap. Not sure if I like programs that think themselves suspicious though, as that was the final straw when I tried Rapport in 2009 was it now? Still, I'm sure it'd be useful on an infected machine and will try it when time isn't a factor.

I've never seen it find anything at all false or otherwise (manual portable scanner), but then again I've never used it on a known infected PC. I keep it just in case at the end of the list, but have only run it on a few machines just to try it out. It does take awhile to scan.

    Forgot about avz being portable.

    Should do what you require.

Scan takes about 5 minutes on my computer.

I usually have an old fall back of using a Mcafee (I know! evil!!) tool called Stinger.
    It's a tiny (8Mb) self-contained antivirus program.
