That for me would be a good reason to not risk a search with Barclaycard IMO.

I had the exact same problem with a business Barclaycard. Accepted in bank (the business manager showed me the green 'Accept') then no card and a letter 6 months later saying I had been declined. You may well get accepted initially and refused later. Don't bother.

The pre-app check searches Callcredit whereas the credit search if you proceed uses Equifax.

I was recently declined despite indicative 70-80% chance on Platinum & Gold and 80-90% on Initial, and they won't give any further info than 'insufficient credit score by our systems'. From what I understand they also use Barclays current account information if you have a current account with them.

Loads of people are getting the decline letter AFTER they've got the card too. Quite a few cases on here.
