managed to get another NSD yesterday, bringing me to NSD 8, which is alot better than i thought i would get so far, over half way, would love to meet my target and increase it. I now have two days in a row, dont think I have the strength to go for longer than 2 days without spending, hopefully after a few months I will get better at this.
Hey has anyone seen the program on channel 4, the thrifty program, Wednesday 8:30pm, I have a feeling some of them are on this website. Some of the ideas are great though, has anyone tried using porridge oats in mince dishes like spag bol, it sounds interesting but I am quite scared.
Good luck all.0 -

Yes, I've been watching this on catch up - couldn't believe the first family that earned £108k per year between them and STILL overspent  I have heard about putting oats in mince before, BMF on here cooks some split red lentils and adds those I believe. Saying that, an awful lot of what they tell the families is common sense, and some of those tips take MSE a little to far for me (I will not be darning any of my OH socks, nor cutting the top of his socks off to make a cuff on a jumper anytime soon)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hi there
Kerri I agree with you ...108k and still spending too much...obscene really.
I have used the oats this week in mince and you cant taste them...well my lot didn't notice the difference .... so thats proof enough for me.
Yesterday NSD 7 for me and thought today would be but needed milk. On special offer in local shop for 66p so didn't break the bank:p
