I know you used to be able to check in 1 bag between 2 with a maximum weight of 32kg...has this changed have just checked my email confirmation and it says 1 bag max 20kg
there are 2 of us travelling......
cant find anything on website,
also aer lingus states 1 bag hold luggage max 44 kg. is this correct ? can some one just confirm please
we are flying out with easyjet and back with aer lingus thanks
GOT THIS FROM EASYJET WEB SITE.......
Hold luggage - how much can you take?
Each passenger who pays for a hold bag can take up to 20kg of luggage. This weight allowance applies to the passenger rather than to the bag so purchasing extra bags is possible but will not increase the allowance. If you think you’ll need to take a little bit more with you, you can buy some extra weight – it’s best to do this online before you fly as the online charges are considerably cheaper than at the airport.
If you are travelling in a group of two or more you may spread the weight of your luggage across the bags. For example, two passengers with a bag each may carry 20kg of luggage each, but if you wish to put 18kg in one bag and 22kg in the other, then that’s okay with us. You’ve just got to remember that you cannot exceed the 40kg total weight allowance without paying additional charges.
A few really important things to remember:

A few really important things to remember:
- We support health and safety guidance for checked luggage and recommend that you keep the weight of each individual bag below 23kg wherever possible.
- Legally we must apply a maximum limit of 32kg so any individual bag weighing more than 32kg cannot be accepted!
- Infants who share your seat do not have a baggage allowance so all their stuff will have to go into your bag!

No idea what it used to be but we've just booked a flight with them and my parents have too and it said max 20kg per person.0

It shows up as you book flights when you select number of bags. Each passenger has to have at least one bag to get a 20kg allowance. Been like that for a number of months.niceday999 wrote: »I know you used to be able to check in 1 bag between 2 with a maximum weight of 32kg...has this changed have just checked my email confirmation and it says 1 bag max 20kg

You're right about the 32kg for two people/one bag prior to this year - think the site wording was confusing allowance and maximum bag weight (for 'elf an safety) but unfortunately they've wised-up this year.
Were a couple of threads (at least) - one of them here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/18244430 -
you definitely could take one larger case with a total weight of 32kg with 2 people checking 1 bag into the hold between them.......i am heading tomorrow night...help can anyone confirm who has travelled lately has this definitely been changed meaning 20kg total for the 1 bag !!!!!!!
argh "!!!!!!!! nightmare......

I was always under the impression that if you pay for 1 bag you get 20kg but the bag could weigh 32kg if you pay excess. If there are two paid for bags you can take 2x 20kg so a total of 40kg but the maximum one bag could weigh would be 32kg (ie 32kg in 1 bag and 8kg in another) for handling reasons.
I might be wrong though!0 -

Looks like it has.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thomson / First Choice also seem to have quietly reduced their baggage allowance from 23kg when I booked my holiday with them last year to 20kg now.0
