Disable 3G on Iphone 4 on Three network
Is it possible to disable 3G on an iPhone 4 on the Three network?
I know it is possible on an iPhone on any other network but was wondering if three have disabled this option in Settings\General\Network\Enable 3G as they usually do with all the other brands (Nokia/Sony e.t.c ) they sell?

It's disabled as they don't have a 2G network of their own, and it costs them money each time you use their roaming partner (Orange/EE)I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Thanks for your speedy reply - I live in a 3G black spot so need a iPhone I can lock onto a 2G network when I am at home otherwise the phone drifts between 2G and 3G which makes it unusable!!0

It used to work if you search for networks.Three(3g) came up and also Three non 3g.Just select the normal three option. They may have disabled this in some areas though.

Three have dropped their 2G services with Orange so there most likely isn't a way of doing this at all.Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).

Was on the M9 and had full 3G or Orange roaming on Edge yesterdaySO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies...
