Not tried it yet - this weekend's ended up being a busy one, so not had chance. Hopefully next week!0 -
If its a single mattress I'd drag it outside on a dry day and let the wind and sun do the work... worth a try before you buy a new one..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

We've picked up a bed and old mattress from my OH's dad. There are a few stains, and also a lot of gritty dust marks from when this was transported in a filthy van and heaved up the stairs of the close into our flat.
Any way we can rejuvenate this at all? It cannot be flipped as it has a soft padding top layer. Instructions just say to sponge down any dirt as it appears but this won't really get it clean.
Thanks0 -

Hoover the mattress as well as you can. then spray it with antibacterial fabreeze. Allow the fabreeze to dry, then use a mattress protector.
Before you go to all the bother of doing this, push down with your hands all over the top of the mattress to feel for any soft spots or noisy springs. If there are any then it could mean that the springs have gone (they don't last as long on non turn mattresses).0 -

Thanks, will give it a hoover, and buy some Fabreeze!.
It is a fairly new mattress, OH's dad used it for about six months and then we used it for another three (ish) months when we stayed there, and has been un used for the past 8 months or so. It is just grubby because OH didn't think to hoover out the back of the van before we collected it! Thanks though.0 -

Kim and aggie hoover it, then sprinkle on Bicarbonate of soda, leave for a few hours, then hoover it off.

Stubborn marks can usually be shifted with a packet of baby wipes, especially if they're a bit greasy.
Alternatively, gently scrubbing with a soft nail brush, some warm soapy water (not detergent) and a handful of old towels often works.0
