NatWest Purple (Servicecard) Eligibility

Hi folks,
I have just moved from Lloyds TSB to NatWest as they would not give me a cheque book and had a full-auth Visa Debit card which again they would not budge with.
They see both as a credit product and I simply was not worthy for these, fair enough not much I can do about it I guess...
Anyways with NatWest now and have the blue full-auth Visa Debit card at present with a cheque book which I am now happy with!
Just a quick one though, if I become eligible for the purple (Servicecard) Visa Debit card would this be automatically sent upon replacement of my current card or would I have to speak with someone in branch to order this specific card instead?
And I guess like all banks, this would depend on my account conduct. Is 6 months a good timescale to start seeing if I am eligible for the purple card and does anyone know how NatWest's internal scoring works? Does NatWeat have a version of CPD and is it the same scale as Lloyds from 1 to 9 with 9 being the worse?
Cheers!

If you have a cheque book, i would have thought that you'd be eligible for the purple card? I'd query that if I were you.Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

Just because you have a cheque book you do not automatically get a CQC.
If you want to upgrade you can speak to lending or your branch.
Risk band goes from 1-10, 1 being the best 10 being the worst.
From June 2011 natwest will no longer be sending out CQC anyway.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Ah, I thought with them issuing a cheque book, you automatically got the purple card.Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

I take it you had a cash account? I'm not worthy of a chequebook either (even though I have a chequebook and £100 CGC with Nationwide) and LTSB gave me a Visa Debit that works everywhere?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

I had a Classic account with them (Silver till I did a downgrade) and had it 8+ months with the norm going in and the norm going out. Always left around £200/Month in the account and never a missed payment.
I did get the Visa Debit card that comes with Lloyds but this was a full-auth card as my balance was reduced each time I made a transaction.
I was told that Offline (CHQ Cards), Cheque Books as well as overdrafts are credit products and even after 8+ months with them the computer said no and so did lending when they looked into this.
I could have lived with the full auth Visa Debit card that was not the issue, just those times you need a chequebook when a debit card can't be used!
Although I don't mind at the end of the day they decide what they give out to customers, I just felt that after 6+ months they could at least have given me a chequebook or something - again I don't think any bank these days will do much unless you are paying in £1 million + but its like they don't care if you close the account and move on anymore.
They always bang on at you to take insurance out with them etc, and it was quite a good price they quoted but if I can't get my banking sorted to a basic level I won't be taking this product out with you anytime soon.
It seems a lot of the staff don't have much of an idea how the credit system works either at Lloyds - Is this any bank again? More people on here have a better idea and I was telling some of the stuff I have read and they were amazed and didn't have a clue!David
