NCP Contravention Charge Notice - Please help me
Options
Hello All,
I received a NCP Parking Contravention Charge Notice on 5/3/11 at Ingatestone station in Essex.
In short, I parked my car at approx 6pm, I would be staying out overnight. The ticket and noticeboard did state that the ticket would only be valid until 4am, however knowing I would be returning at 6.45am to collect my car I felt confident all would be ok. (there was not an option to buy a longer ticket, the next option was a weekly).
Imagine my surprise when I returned the following morning bright and early to see I had been fined at 6.22am.
I understand that in theory I should have picked up my car before 4am, but never imagined in my wildest dreams that they would be on the prowl so early in the morning.
I appealed and have now received a letter stating I need to pay the fine. I have read on other forums that this is just a scam and not to pay. However none of these have mentioned appealing. Will this be a different outcome now?
I am very reluctant to pay the thieving gits but at the same time don't want two big menacing gents knocking on my door taking away my processions to meet my fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Emma

NCP will never go as far as getting a court order. The most they will do is just send letters, you dont have much to worry about.0

There's hundreds nay, thousands of posts about this, check 'em out. Just ignore the begging letters from now on if you don't want to pay. Remember debt collectors are not bailiffs. Only court bailiffs with a warrant came come and seize your er' assets0

What's your suggestion then?, the death penalty  ?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

For the parking "violation" or the boring post or the poor punctuation?I felt confident all would be ok
You underestimated their tenacity but are still not obligated to pay0 -
Technically, no you don't need to pay but next time, in the nicest possible way, try to obey the rules instead of complaining about getting caught.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
