Would adding my Mum or Dad to the policy help do you think? I can't add my OH - he's only just been cleared by his doctor to drive so I dread to think what he'll cost :o
If his GP clears him to drive, he is obviously no longer a risk.

i got my renewal notice too, they quoted me £350 more than last year that was with Kwikfit. looked at comparison sites, then got a call from Admiral and got my insurance down to about £10 more than last year.

Adding older drivers to the policy definately lowers the cost of insurance. I have added my wife and this reduces it by about £50.

Use a cashback website and see what offers are on? Quidco normally has plenty of offers so you get a load of dosh back (eventually) for taking out the policy via their website.
Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

I've just had my renewal notice through - from about £320 last year to £515 this year

I quickly put my details into gocompare and the cheapest was about £370 so I phoned my insurance company and told them to cancel the automatic renewal (I never asked them to put me on their autorenewal thing in the first place), they didn't even bother trying to match the quote, so much for customer loyalty.

Slight complication in that I have breakdown cover with the same insurance company but it doesn't renew until July. I asked them if I could get a part-refund on that (so I can simplify this years insurance by getting breakdown cover at the same time) and they said the cancellation fee would be the same as the refund - typical!

Are there any other good comparison websites? I'm planning on having a really good look around over the next couple of weeks. I wish I'd watched that guide to cheaper car insurance on Martins show a bit more closely now.
