Suggest you run HitmanPro (32-bit) or HitmanPro (64-bit) depending on what system you have to see if your virus free.

Could you also go into 'My Computer' and click on

C: then windows ,system 32/drivers/etc/hosts . You will see a file called hosts.bak.

Right Click on it . Then on 'Open With......' and open it with notepad.

Are there a LOT of entries? ( WARNING: this list will more than likely include !!!!!! sites ...don't want to shock you!!!!)

There is just one listing: some numbers, then 'localhost'

    Is this good or bad?

Good.....your hosts file is sorted and you shouldn't now have any problems with your browser (unless you still have the virus).

Suggest you update and run Malaware Bytes and post a log. Also Download and Update hijack This, run a scan and post the log.

This is where I will leave things to the likes of AlienRik as they are FAR FAR FAR better than me at analysing these logs.

Please open malwarebytes, goto LOGS and post the WHOLE of the last log

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)

Opened it, ran a scan (that found things), then the only way forward was to buy.

I've defo never seen or used the product before.
