Riiiight....OK......errrrmm LOOL!
Go into Start ; All Programs and it should be highlighted as a new program. Open it again.
If you can't see it that way then My Computer , C: , Program Files and it should be in there.
When you open it the top button on the left hand side will probably say ' Make Writeable?' if it does, click on it and it will say ' Make Readable?' . Now click on Restore MS Hosts file and hopefully...........
Just another thought.....
Go into Tools , Internet Options, LAN settings, and ensure the 'use a proxy server ....' is UNchecked.Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0 -

What seems to be happening now (sometimes, not always) is the very first listing from a search will direct me to some nonsense but all the ones beneath take me straight to the correct link. Before, most links were directing me to some nonsense so there has been an improvement.
I'm pretty sure I've downloaded the HostXpert thing correctly and restored the Microsoft settings.0 -

The only tools tab I can find is on my browser and it doesn't give internet options.
Which browser are you using? I presumed it was internet explorer.Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0 -

Could you also go into 'My Computer' and click on
C: then windows ,system 32/drivers/etc/hosts . You will see a file called hosts.bak.
Right Click on it . Then on 'Open With......' and open it with notepad.
