The best bet as stated is a separate label printer so I will look at the cost of one of those
Well, not really, since you can print sheets of labels with the A4 printer you've already got. Templates are easily found in Word and elsewhere. Sheets of blank labels cost many pence, but nowhere near as much as a new printer would cost!

ALDI had a very good deal on A4 sheets of printer labels.. packs with a variety of label sizes. i recall it was 100 sheets for £1.99. The difficulty I've found is that I only usually want one label every so often, which means the sheets are left with 'holes' where labels were previously used. So i have to carefully configure the label printing software every time of use to ensure the printing hits a fresh label!

If you already have an A4 printer, another option would be to print your addresses on labels. I find that easier.

    or use window envelopes

If you use Word, from the labels section you can just select the row and column of the lable you want to print.

the only thing to remember then is which way round to load the sheet!
