The banks, DCA's and CRA's are all in the same boat, sailing the murky financial waters. Whist scratching each others backs.

    haha, good old Experian!

They don't have a cancel button on the website because they want you to call so they can try and convince you to keep paying. Just tell them you want to cancel and don't deviate away from what you want.

A business wants to retain customers? What's next - hot fire, or bears visiting the bathroom in the woods?

How often can a customer repeat the 'FREE 30 Day Trial' credit report from CreditExpert?
Is it once a year or what?
  • Hi Im in a similar situation, tried the 30 day trial then tried to ring Experian and got the "we are busy ---- disconnect, also emailed to cancel. rang them to cancel this morning and got a reply, YIPPEE !!! and was told it was too late and they have taken my money. I think this is disgraceful. I now have escelated and someone is supposed to ring me within 48Hrs. This is an advertising gimmic and my belief is that they should tell you when the promotion is ending and wether you want to continue. NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND AS THIS IS and anyway isnt it against the law to disclose my personal finances to a third party without my pemission? I would be very interested if someone could clear the legal side of the situation.:mad:
    Kind regards
    To all
  • I am very disappointed with experian. You might say i agreed to the terms & conditions when i signed up for a free trial, but i had to as you are forced to give your credit card details to get the trial. i didn't have a single email to let me know i was going to get charged as my trial expired, i think it should be the least you could do. Unfortunately, i remembered 31 days later i signed up! This is not fair experian. I was also told when i called i either cancel straight away or i need to call back before the second month strarts! I cannot just tell you not to renew anymore?! This is just ridiculous and such easy money for you. It would be so much fairer if you only took money from people who really wanted to, at least new customers!

I am also very disappointed with Experian Credit services.
I've signed up for trial service at: 1 January 2014 19:46, after about 1 week I've received PIN so I could use the service.
Not all information in the report were correct, especially account balance.

Finally I've wanted to cancel the service and unsubscribe.
I've sent cancellation e-mail with my reference number at: 27 January 2014 20:05

    2 days later I've received e-mail:
    Dear Mr **************

Thank you for your email, which we received on 27/01/2014.

    *Cancellation of your membership

I am sorry that you want to leave CreditExpert.

    Then I've sent another e-mail:
    Dear *******,

Regardless what I've said, that I don't have opportunity to call you in your working hours, I was trying to make a call just few minutes ago.
Unfortunately I can not call freephones like: 0800 561 0083.

Because of that I am happy to give you information about your below queries by e-mail and would really appreciate if you can cancel my account.

    - Resolve any issues that you have had
    I did not have any

    - Gain your feedback about the service
Easy to use, secure (because of PIN). Nice site design, easy to read and nice looking gauge showing credit score. Nothing to add.

    - Help you with any credit report issues that you may have
I think that my account balance was incorrect, because you've stated that it's £0, however I am pretty sure it was ***.

    Have a good day.

    Thanks,
    ************

Unfortunately I did not receive any reply till now.

Finally I've bought Giffgaff SIM card and gave them a call this morning. Lady asked about my purposes of using that service and asked if I was happy etc. etc.
After that she wanted to sell me Credit Report changes notification service for few quids a month.

When I said that I am not interested in any financial service right now, she checked something and said that my debit card was already debited this morning (£14.99) and she can not cancel that.

    I said how?
She said that my 30 days trial period expired today so they've debited my account. I said that I should get a refund, because I've sent e-mails earlier about that I am not able to call and would like to unsubscribe.
Unfortunately she said that debit card once debited can not be refunded... and according to their T&C the only valid method to cancel that service it's to call that their freephone.

I was quite angry, just said Ok, bye bye. That's it.

Even if there is 30 days trial period it's about to expire this evening (19:46).

Again I am really really disappointed, I do not recommend them and not going to use their service in the future.
