I'm glad you both had no trouble, unfortunately I did and I'd guess I'm not the only one.
Did you do as I did and grab a last report before the time ran out and compare it though?
This is one James hasn't responded to, and it's one I don't think they would like to answer, as it includes things not mentioned when they were still taking cash.
Coincidences can happen, but this one seems a bit to far outside that.
Do you have a less favourable report if you don't pay for example? I know it shows to my bank that I had signed up, as during an advisor meeting (one arranged at the counter) with them for either an overdraught or loan (apparently less than £1000 isn't enough for a loan any more too) it was confirmed that I was checking my report and the nice person at the bank was pointing to her screen.
Didn't get either as I had no debt or credit cards or debt basically, so still the same old circle that allows some companies to charge unbelievable percentage rates to those just needing a bank manager with the authority to make a decision (what happened to them?), and it's always those in the worst position that gets hammered.
And if James does read this, I don't need an email about an XBox exploit that can steal my details and subject me to identity theft, I can't afford one!
Again sorry if I go on but I have a rotten feeling about closed information that is ours0 -

I live with my partner and his brother and his partner, when we moved house in March "I" signed us all up to credit expert to check our credit scores ( as we needed to move.)
With my partner and his brothers memberships I used Equifax (who were great! easy to cancel)
With me and my other housemate I used credit expert - I managed to cancel my membership fine however no matter how many time I have emailed to cancell her membership (crediting my bank account) I have had no luck!
For a start I was never able to check her credit score as we never received her PIN in the post! So I assumed that she had not completely signed up as we never fully logged in!
I lost my bank card a month ago so I had emails from CE asking for the payment, I finally thought it had been cancelled until I had two months membership money taken out this month (obviously they had called my bank and asked for payment)
I cannot call as I work Mon to Fri 9-5 and am only with my flatmate after 6pm (as I'm guessing they'll need to talk to her to cancel)
Could i call my bank and tell them not to pay Credit Expert?
Whats my best way out so I'm not paying for a service i'm not receiving?

Maybe you can help me, I would like to view my report on Experian, but because I did subscribe almost 10 years ago, I can't actually sign up to use the service anymore, tried various times over the past few years get the same message, telling me I have a report and to log in.0 -

Been trying to cancel this myself.
The membership email address they give you does not seem to work?
They state you need to tell them your full name, the 8 digit ID number and the email address it is registered with. I sent this and got an automated response saying I need to phone them as they don't have the necessary details to cancel my subscription. This auto response e-mail also stated I need to send them my full name, the 8 digit ID number and the email address so I did this again and got exactly the same response.
I do not want to phone them up, because quite frankly I do not want the sales pitch.
I am firmly of the believe they send out the standard e-mails to get his response.
Tried to cancel Saturday morning and can't so I am now going to trip over into getting charged.
Experian like the rest of the industry involved in anything to do with Credit are a bunch of robbing, conniving *insert sweary word here*.
NOT HAPPY AT ALL.
Why on earth can't they have a simple cancel button when you log in????? Or would that make it too easy for people and make it less likely for people to not accidentally end up getting charged for it at the end of their "free" trial period.Smoke free since November 2009.

They don't have a cancel button on the website because they want you to call so they can try and convince you to keep paying. Just tell them you want to cancel and don't deviate away from what you want.0 -
Funnily enough i had just got to the point of giving my card details to equifax, as i contemplated looking at my credit files for the first time, ever. At which point, i aborted the process. Why should i give my now very precious card details to a company i don't know, who hold information about me, and know everything about me? Lo and behold, here is this thread, making me even more resolute not to give my card details to a site i don't know.
Like its been said, when you have little funds, £6.99 is a huge amount to not be able to cancel.
Does anyone know the way forward to obtain your credit file information free of charge, ( no loopholes)? as i've read the ' stickies ' but i'm still pretty clueless about things i've never had any dealing with before? I'm tempted just not to do anything, or maybe retreat to the cab for advice again.
